Slow Flow Yoga Classes

ABOUT SLOW FLOW YOGA WITH d-f studio

The gentle nature of this class is suitable for all levels and experience. A meditative form of vinyasa. Whilst the class is slow moving you have the opportunity to pay attention to alignment and truly get to know what it feels like to move in and out of poses safely whilst being guided.

With an intention to incorporate a link between breath and movement, you may notice the positive effect on moving the body at a pace where you can observe its natural tendencies.

What are the benefits of Slow Flow Yoga?

Slow Flow cultivates strength and flexibility whilst offers a meditative experience. With the offering being”slow” it helps people to still move but for those that are not committed to a full vinyasa practice this is the happy medium.

Whilst strength is still involved during a slow flow practice you can use the space to understand how and where to correct the body.

Is Slow Flow Yoga right for me?

With the intention to slow things down this class is great for someone that wants to explore a deeper practice. Having a little more space between movement will allow the student to lean into its meditative tendencies. This is great for anyone and also available to a beginner wanting to explore yoga.

We have a handful of slow flow time slots on the schedule in our Brookvale studio, and we find that we get anyone from the tradie looking to expel a bit of energy or to simply stretch out from a physical day.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SLOW FLOW YOGA CLASS WITH
d-f studio

You are in for a 60min treat of slowing things down on and off the mat. This is a class where props are often used as the poses can often be held for a little longer in between breaths.

Eliza Hayward

Eliza’s journey of self-discovery and personal growth began as a curious teenage student where accessing yoga and meditation was part of her ritual.

Her classes are deeply rooted in accessing the physical and energetic systems of the body to awaken the intelligence within.  For Eliza following the yogic path is a joyous journey which has brightened her desire to create her own studio.

Eliza finds that yoga is a wonderful vehicle to gather community and share expression and celebrate this life changing practice with those who also seek and are curious about enhancing their lives.

Eliza is an influential yoga and meditation teacher, empowerment coach and retreat host. She is renowned for her passion and joy while honouring the practices of yoga which overflows into the community.

Tash Talevski

Tash comes from an experienced background in Personal Training, with a depth of anatomical knowledge. Submerged in the world of health and fitness from a young age, she quickly developed a love and fascination of the human vessel.

Movement through space, with awareness on breath, became profound and necessary tools in her journey toward self-exploration and transformation. In her quest to deepen this inner exploration, Tash eventually found herself living in Mexico at the Hridaya Yoga Centre. Here, immersed in a yogic lifestyle and the traditional Hatha teachings, was the start of her ongoing yoga journey. She has since completed multiple trainings, taught in retreats overseas and continues to inquire with awe into the nature of the human organism.

Tash believes much of our “knowing” has been limited to the brain alone, where many aspects of ourselves cannot be truly met. She draws from her coaching background, in-depth anatomical knowledge and diverse movement education, to guide her students through an integrated practice of conscious anatomical and energetic explorations in order to deepen the Mind-Body experience.

She views each movement practice as a portal for conscious connection with our self and the world around us, and aims to inspire in her students a curiosity of the self – to feel, taste and honour each breath, and subtle bodily sensation as a gateway into revelation.

Olivia Kerr

Olly is an energetic fountain of positivity and enthusiasm, traits she brings to every class.

Her yoga journey started a couple of years ago as a way to counterbalance her love of running and athletics. Since experiencing the mind/body benefits of the practice, yoga has become one of Olly’s greatest passions.

Her personal practice is focused towards distilling her natural energy into breath, movement and flow, finding a space within that allows for growth.

She is a student of Chiropractic Science and loves applying her knowledge of anatomy into creative flows.

Olly brings a steadiness to her teaching with attention to alignment and strong, slow poses while encouraging movement that feels good!

Petra

Petra’s meeting with the ancient path of Yoga began over a decade ago. This mysterious path lead Petra through a process of deconstruction and creation, self-inquiry, healing and awakening.

Through devotion, studies, curious exploration and passion to be in service Petra was initiated into the path of Yoga, healing and women’s mysteries.

Her offering on the mat is to guide human beings to embody the language of the body and the wisdom that each one of us carry within our hearts by weaving together the ancient practice of Yoga and her devotion and connection with the teachings from nature and native wisdom.
Her teachings invite the opportunities to evolve together in community, transcending duality and remembering how to walk with respect, integrity, purpose, clarity and kindness on the Earth.

In co creation with the earth Petra holds breathwork, cacao ceremonies and women’s rituals. She is a doula in training and passionate about supporting women in reclaiming their essence through feminine embodiment, conscious movement and ceremonies.
