Our Favourite Sydney Hikes

Here are just a few of our favourite Sydney hikes that will take your breath away. Not only are these walks at our doorstep but they are accessible for all levels. We love sharing these adventures with our friends. Carving out time to be in nature is super important for us to feel refreshed, grounded or even re-inspired.

Some more reasons to get out and discover these walks are:

  • Allowing your mind and body to slow down and adjust the speed of your thoughts
  • Connecting with nature and to the beauty around you
  • Taking a break from the mental chaos of day to day life and finding focus on what matters truly to you
  • Increase your mindfulness and ability to stay present. Increase your sensory levels and become in awe of the colours and textures around you.

In no particular order here are our favourites Sydney hikes:

Barrenjoey Lighthouse walk + Palm Beach + 1.5hr, 2.2km loop

We love this one as it’s right at our doorstep. This was a weekly walk for me growing up on Pittwater across from Palm Beach. Looking across both Palm Beach and Pittwater from the rocks is so peaceful. There are also a few other great spots to just sit above Pittwater and watch the yachts yawn their way past.

Bradleys Bay to Chowder Bay + Taronga Zoo, Sydney Harbour National Park + 1.5, 4km one way

This was our most recent DF community hike. The backdrop of the harbour is beautiful and we found an awesome little picnic spot right on the water watching the activity on the water. We started at 8am so it was mostly to quiet along the way.

Resolute loop + West Head + 3hr, 6km loop

Not only is this a great walk it is always an amazing spot to pull up your boat. The beach is nestled within rocks making you feel like its secluded whilst maintaining spectacular views of Pittwater. A great spot to continue towards is the West Head lookout for a picnic bite.

Hike 4. Manly to North Head + Nature Reserve + 10km 3hrs

Living in Manly / Freshwater for the past few years we have explored this area top to bottom. This breathtaking coastal walk will find you starting at Shelly Beach, no need to rush past. From here, you will walk past bushland of Sydney’s National Park as you gently find your way to North Head.

Hike 5. Manly to Spit +3-4hrs 10km

A lush yet longer hike through bushlands along with the water’s edge views. There are so many spots to stop and be in awe of the beauty ahead. The trails winds at Clontarf reserve, a sunny popular picnic location. On a warm day my go to is the cafe to soak up some lunch & an ice block.

Join our next Community Hike March 24th 2019!
