I love the splits. I just had an inner giggle to that. Why? Because I cant even do them! My hamstrings say YES but my hips say NO. It is an ongoing practice of patience and commitment which is the very essence of yoga.Alice
Presently, Passchimotanasana. A forward fold is surrendering, softening your expectations of your body, the sensations and yourself, just melting into where you are.Shannon
My favourite pose varies with what my body needs. At the moment I am loving creating a relaxed free feeing within my shoulders and arms, this could look as simple as moving through shoulder rotations whilst in a high lunge. The challenge of the balance and strength in the leg position, then finding the softness within that strength in the arms. Moving from your core and gathering graceful movements all the way from your toes to your fingertips.Sophie
Plough Pose – (Halasana)– This pose helps me to stretch out my shoulders and my spine and breakdown the barriers and padding I’ve built around my heart. People forget that the back body is also connected to the heart centre. I feel like that it where I hold and harvest a lot of tension. When you can relax into this pose there is a great opportunity to find an overwhelming sense of calm, when releasing out of it, you often feel a surge of energy. The posture calms my mind and reduces stress and fatigue at the same time. It’s a cooling and calming posture for me and provides a beautiful transition into Savasana (my second favourite pose)… for obvious reasons.

My favourite pose is Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose) this moves energy deep within my hip joints and glute muscles where a lot of tension can build up over a day or week. It allows for instantaneous relief and a sense of freedom from whatever may have been feeling stuck in my body, mind or heart.
