Yin Yoga and Superficial Fascia with Mysan Sidbo
Enjoy two hours of deeply nourishing Yin yoga designed to release, stimulate, and cultivate a more refined understanding of your superficial fascia.
The superficial fascia is a continuous, head-to-toe, fleece-like layer that lies just beneath the skin. Rich in adipose tissue—often simply described as “the fatty layer under the skin”—it is, in fact, a remarkable and dynamic organ. Far from being inert, it plays a vital role in insulation, protection, metabolic activity, and sensory communication throughout the body.
This magnificent shaping layer is entirely unique in each individual. Though we all possess superficial fascia, its texture, density, and distribution vary beautifully from person to person. Cultural perspectives on this tissue differ widely: some traditions revere and honour it, while others attempt to diminish or erase it.
This immersive session will guide you to directly experience your superficial fascia through long, mindful Yin holds and subtle, intentional movement. You will be invited not only to feel into this layer, but to appreciate the profound support it offers your body. With greater awareness often comes respect—and perhaps even affection—for this generous, responsive tissue that continually supports inner communication, resilience, and health.
Join Mysan in celebrating this extraordinary, life-enhancing layer of your being.
